The Class 3A course allows individuals to drive tandem axle trucks with air brakes after obtaining their licence. A one week course is condensed and delivered at a fast pace for individuals with experience in large equipment.
All class hours listed are approximations for this course. Students and instructors spend time in the areas that need the most training. JBA1 uses a ratio of two students per one unit (2:1) during practical instruction. This allows the students the opportunity to observe as well as operate the equipment.
Training is available in either standard or automatic transmissions. Any student who takes training in the automatic and tests with SGI will be restricted to driving automatic transmission only. The use of the truck for training and testing are provided for the students during the course.
One road exam is included in the tuition fee. If students need a second test, additional charges for the cost of the exam and use of the equipment will be applicable. Testing takes place on the last day of the course.
